AONL leaders discuss staff retention in Time magazine
RetuRN to Practice, a program created by former AONL board member Claire Zangerle, DNP, RN, is among the hospital-based initiatives featured in Time this week as part of an article on how businesses can respond to the “Great Resignation.” Tapping into the retired nursing workforce and creating flexible employment options are central to her program, said Zangerle, chief nurse executive for the Pennsylvania-based Allegheny Health Network. AONL board member Anne Schmidt, DNP, ANP, chief nursing officer at the Miriam Hospital in Providence, R.I., also is quoted in the article. She spoke to the importance of self-care for cultivating resilience. (Time article, 11/22/21)
