AONL Foundation receives $1 million donation from AvaSure
This week the AONL Foundation for Nursing Leadership and Research and Education received substantial donations from AvaSure, Belmont, Mich., a leader in patient safety monitoring and innovator in virtual nursing. The donations, totaling $1 million over the next decade, continue the firm’s commitment to patient safety and nursing leadership. At an AONL Foundation event held in conjunction with AONL 2022, AvaSure announced it is donating $500,000 over the next 10 years to support the AONL Foundation. In addition, AvaSure chairman and former CEO Brad Playford, and his wife Kathleen, through their foundation Reset Ventures, will match the gift. “Nurse leaders are critical to the excellent care and safety patients deserve and respect,” said Playford. “We are so fortunate to have the opportunity to continue supporting them in an impactful way.” This gift will be AvaSure’s third donation to AONL Foundation, following a $100,000 donation that supported the foundation from 2018 through 2022. “We are thrilled to support AONL’s meaningful research and the work that it takes to continually improve patient safety and advance the practice of nursing,” said Adam McMullin, Avasure CEO. Robyn Begley, AONL CEO and president of the AONL Foundation Board, expressed the foundation’s gratitude, noting, “AvaSure has led the way in helping the AONL Foundation in our goal of becoming self-sustaining. This level of support will go a long way for our nurse leaders and our aspiring nursing leaders.” (AONL news release, 4/14/22)
