AONL Explores How Nurse Managers Promote Team-based Care
AONL’s Workforce Committee this week released the second in a series of resources examining the nurse manager role. This paper explores how the pandemic and continuing workforce deficits have led nurse managers to implement team-based models of care. In focus groups, nurse managers discussed how promoting team-based care affected their workload, the responsibilities for training and team integration. Nurse managers explained how they developed competencies to lead a professionally diverse front-line care team. Building trust, deploying change management techniques and increasing their control span are essential topics they cover.
