AONL Celebrates National Nurses Week
AONL expressed gratitude to nurse leaders during National Nurses Week, held May 6-12. “During Nurses Week and always, we celebrate and honor nurse leaders and their tireless work to deliver high-quality care,” said AONL CEO Robyn Begley, DNP, RN, who also is CNO and senior vice president of workforce for the American Hospital Association. “Their dedication and skills are essential to creating healthy communities.” Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra said, “America’s nurses are the beating heart of our health care system. They are talented, skilled professionals who serve as vocal and valuable advocates for their patients, colleagues, communities and themselves.” He noted the government supports nursing through its investments in nursing training grants, loans and scholarships. Hospitals around the country celebrated nurses by hosting special events, such as luncheons or breakfasts to recognize employees, held formal awards presentations, sent personal letters from leadership and organized swag giveaways.
