J&J research explores innovations, path forward for nursing
In partnership with Johnson & Johnson (J&J) and the American Nurses Association (ANA), AONL this week released Accelerating Nursing, Transforming Healthcare, a research study aimed at helping chart a path forward for the nursing profession and elevating the role of nurses as transformative leaders. To understand the various ways nurses stepped up to lead and innovate during the pandemic, the study combined a quantitative analysis with qualitative exploration. Among its findings, nurses leveraged telehealth and virtual health to bring care to patients, especially those prevented by COVID-19 from accessing traditional care delivery. Nurses also spearheaded “fail-fast” pilots to allow health systems to meet the quickly evolving needs of patients.
