AHRQ seeks nominations for national advisory council
The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality seeks nominations for its National Advisory Council for Healthcare Research and Quality. The agency will appoint seven members to replace members whose terms expire in November. Nurses who are interested in serving on the committee should email Nicole Huber, government affairs and policy assistant at the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, or fill out a survey by May 5. AACN convenes the Ad Hoc Nomination Consortium, which identifies and nominates nursing experts to serve on federal committees, taskforces, councils and boards. Separately, an American Journal of Nursing report published in April notes nurses are underrepresented in elected positions, despite their expertise in addressing health challenges.
