AHRQ releases MRSA prevention toolkit

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality released a toolkit for MRSA prevention in intensive care unit and non-ICU settings. AHRQ intends for the toolkit to assist health care staff and leadership with improving infection prevention practices to reduce MRSA rates. The toolkit emphasizes four strategies to prevent MRSA: decolonizing patients; decontaminating the clinical environment; preventing person-based transmission; and preventing device- and procedure-related infections.
