AHA guide promotes emergency preparedness
In honor of National Preparedness Month, the American Hospital Association is highlighting its guide to fostering collaboration between health care and public health to strengthen emergency management systems. The CLEAR Field Guide for Emergency Preparedness, released in 2022 with the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response, outlines objectives to better assess, respond and manage threats to public health. AHA also is hosting a virtual leadership series for hospital C-suite leaders on sharing strategies to navigate effectively large-scale cyberattacks, natural disasters and acts of violence. The final webinar, to be held on Sept. 29 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. CT, will explore how rural hospitals respond when disaster strikes. Participants must register in advance. A publication will highlight key takeaways and recommendations from these sessions. (AHA News article, 9/11/23)
