AHA case study explores equity award winner AnMed
AnMed’s excellence in implementing language services and community engagement strategies to eliminate health care disparities and improve patient quality outcomes earned the Anderson, S.C. hospital the American Hospital Association’s 2024 Carolyn Boone Lewis Equity of Care Award in the Small/Rural Hospital Excellence category. The AHA’s Institute for Diversity and Health Equity developed a case study detailing AnMed’s language services strategies, including in-person, virtual and digital medical interpretation solutions. It also discusses AnMed’s role in the Anderson Area Remembrance and Reconciliation Initiative to honor five known victims of lynching in Anderson County and engage the community in discussions about the history and lasting impact of racial and economic injustice.
