AHA blog discusses tools to improve individual well-being
Positive psychology exercises can improve health care workers’ mental health, according to Bryan Sexton, PhD, director of the Duke Center for the Advancement of Well-being Science. In an American Hospital Association blog, he notes many of these tools are free, easily accessible and can make an impact in as short as 10 days. Improvements still can be seen at 12 months. Exercises include gratitude letters, cultivating awe, looking forward, positive emotion tracking, mindfulness, a sleep tool, cultivating work-life balance and cultivating forgiveness.
