AHA Releases 2023 Workforce Scan

The American Hospital Association’s 2023 Health Care Workforce Scan focuses on reconnecting clinicians to purpose; providing support, training and technology clinicians need to thrive in multiple care delivery environments; and recruiting innovatively, investing in retention and building a robust pipeline. Released this week, the annual scan offers a snapshot of America’s hospital and health system employment, based on data sources from leading organizations and researchers. Robyn Begley, AONL CEO and AHA CNO and senior vice president of workforce, noted hospitals are relying on flexibility and technology to address workforce shortages. “Many systems have considered what jobs or tasks can be done outside of the hospital,” she said, “and allow their health care workers to perform these duties remotely, either from home or remote locations.” To download the scan, visit the AHA website.
