AHA launches ‘100 Million Mask Challenge’
The American Hospital Association (AHA) announced a national initiative to secure millions of masks for the physicians, nurses and caregivers who are treating coronavirus patients and who are at risk due to a nationwide shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE). Providence, a 51-hospital health system based in Renton, Wash., launched the inaugural initiative earlier this month. The AHA will bring to scale the Providence effort to facilitate private sector partnerships to address PPE shortages. More information on how to support the 100 Million Mask Challenge is available on the AHA website. (AHA news release, 3/27/20)
