NCC commends senators for bill reauthorizing nursing workforce programs

This week the Nursing Communiity Coalition (NCC) lauded Sens. Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., and Richard Burr, R-N.C., for their bipartisan introduction of S.1399, Title VIII Nursing Reauthorization Act of 2019.  The  NCC, which includes 62 national nursing organizations including AONL, notes that Title VIII workforce programs provide support in educating the next generation of nurses and meeting the nation’s critical care needs. The NCC “remains committed to passing Title VIII Nursing Workforce Reauthorization this year and looks forward to working with our Senate champions on this essential issue impacting the health care of communities throughout the country.” (NCC statement, 5/9/19)
