NCC commends House for passing Title VIII legislation
The Nursing Community Coalition (NCC) commended the House of Representatives for passing H.R. 2740, an appropriations bill that would increase investments in nursing education and research. The legislation includes $279 million for existing Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development Programs and new grant opportunities that would bolster nursing education at all levels and help ensure an adequate nursing workforce. The bill also allocates $171 million for the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR), which the Coalition notes, “is vital to the well-being of all Americans.” (NCC news release, 6/19/19)
