How Predictive Analytics Establish Sustainable Results
Many health systems are faced with a lengthy list of workforce management challenges. With nursing care accounting for approximately 40% of total labor costs, hospitals have been compelled to look for efficiency opportunities simply as a means to control rising labor costs. Compounded with staff shortages and the long-term impacts of the pandemic we’re beginning to understand, it’s imperative to develop plans that allow for greater flexibility, optimization and the ability to quickly adjust as new challenges emerge.
Temple Health transformed their workforce management approach with a workforce assessment, staffing analytics, float pool development, a consolidated staffing office, and the implementation of a predictive scheduling technology, in 10 months – during a pandemic. Join Dr. Angelo Venditti, Chief Nursing Executive, Chief Patient Experience Officer and EVP for Patient Care Services, at Temple Health, to hear the approach he’s spearheading to combat the workforce management challenges in a union-heavy environment. Dr. Venditti will share the type of assessments and the symphony of strategies that help health systems understand staffing numbers and allocations to determine what could be done better and what to prioritize, leading to a data-driven strategy with transparency across the enterprise.
