Improve Technology Engagement with a Clinical Transformation Specialist
With the rapid change in healthcare technology, there is a critical need to support clinicians with accepting and adopting change. Shriners Children’s recognized a need for a dedicated role to support their clinicians with this rapid change. This presentation will review Shriners Children’s vision and implementation of a clinical transformation role to support healthcare technology growth and user adoption at each of our locations. Laying the foundation through various communication methods to leadership helped vet the need for a recognized and committed role to support the end user experience.
This presentation will review how this role is embedded in our shared governance model supporting user empowerment and engagement in system design. The Clinical Transformation Specialist (CTS) drives user engagement through a Clinical Transformation Council facilitating work sessions and system design with their end users. This allows a systems approach to change following evidence-based practices and vendor partner recommendations. Although this model was rolled out at a children’s hospital it can be recreated in any organization that is willing to make the investment.
