AONE Changes Name to Foster Inclusivity
AONE has officially change its name to the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) as of May 10. This change was announced at the organization’s annual meeting last month. “For more than 50 years, our organization has provided innovative professional development, advocacy and research to advance the nursing leadership specialty nationwide,” AONL Chief Executive Officer Robyn Begley, DNP, RN, said at the annual meeting in San Diego. “The American Organization for Nursing Leadership more fully represents those we serve—a diverse network of nurse leaders, working at all levels across the care continuum.” The organization will continue to focus on its core initiatives providing education, advocacy and community. Begley noted although the name is changing, the organization’s mission will not. “As we look toward the future, AONL will continue to lead the transformation of health care as the voice for all nurse leaders.” (AONL news release, 4/11/19)
