AHA hosts Aug. 1 webinar on age-friendly health systems

With the number of older Americans expected to double from 46 million today to more than 98 million by 2060, health systems must take steps to adapt to the needs of an aging population. To assist in this process, the American Hospital Association (AHA) has partnered with the Catholic Health Association of the United States, The John A. Hartford Foundation and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement to launch the Age-Friendly Health Systems initiative. On Thursday Aug. 1 at noon CT, AHA will host 4Ms Framework for Age-Friendly Care, an evidence-based model to support the needs of older adults in clinical settings. The event also is designed to encourage health systems to join the age-friendly action community that will test and share results as its members put the 4Ms Framework into practice. The webinar will feature the work of health system Providence St. Joseph Health, Renton, Wash., to become an age-friendly organization. Attendees should register for the webinar.
