AHA, AONL support MOMMA Act provisions

The Mothers and Offspring Mortality and Morbidity Awareness (MOMMA) Act (H.R. 1897/S. 916), supported by AONLs, would improve state maternal mortality data, provide funding to promote safety practice and cultural competency, and extend health coverage and services for low-income postpartum women. Last week, the American Hospital Association (AHA) wrote to the bill’s lead sponsors, stating maternal health is a “top priority for the AHA and our member hospitals and health systems,” and that the association is “redoubling its efforts to combat maternal mortality and morbidity.” (AHA News story, 5/2/19)
