2024 Professional Governance Conference
Call for Abstracts are Open!
We are seeking submissions that showcase how nurses in all roles demonstrate leadership in professional governance and embody the principles of professional governance, taking ownership of their practice to make a meaningful impact on their organization, the nursing profession and the health outcomes of the patients and communities they serve.
Potential submission topics include:
Improved Health Outcomes: Provide exemplars of how nurses fulfill their social contract to advance health. Highlight the influence and value of the nursing profession that drive positive health outcomes in the communities served.
Improved care coordination: Demonstrate how professional governance has improved care coordination across all settings and improved collaboration among nursing professionals, positively impacting nursing professionals and the individuals they serve.
Shaping the Future of Nursing: Showcase how professional governance is essential for ensuring a sustainable future and well-being of the nursing profession.
Leadership in Professional Governance: Provide examples of nurses in all roles contributing to practice ownership and accountability through leadership behaviors supported by the structural frame of professional governance and integrated into organizational cultures.
Conference Includes
- Two-day conference with interactive learning to engage nurses at all levels in decision-making
- A selection of over 20 breakout sessions designed for nurses in a variety of leadership roles in professional governance
- Over 20 poster sessions
- Networking opportunities with other nurses in professional governance leadership roles

Individuals and teams with leadership roles in professional governance—from the chair of a unit council to the CNO of the organization—will benefit from attending. Group participation from the same organization is encouraged.
