Resource seeks to prepare nurses with well-being, leadership competencies

The American Association of Colleges of Nursing this week released a well-being and leadership toolkit geared for faculty working to prepare students to succeed in health care. Sponsored by Johnson & Johnson, the toolkit teaches skills in the areas of well-being, self-care, resilience and leadership ─ key domains for retaining novice nurses. The toolkit features multiple learning strategies, assessment measures, faculty suggestions and key resources faculty can use to teach well-being and leadership skills. The toolkit is based on learnings from a pilot project AACN conducted with 10 schools last year. During the pilot, schools collaborated with practice partners to determine how and when to integrate resources and learning strategies into classroom and clinical experiences.
